I am a huge fan of K'nex and this younger version doesn't disappoint.  These packs are great fun with a good range of different pieces and 'eyes' to get creative with.  The pieces are really durable and can withstand some vigorous playing (I have had this in my Early Years classrooms in 2 schools and it is pretty much unbreakable!)

A game from my childhood and this really stands up to the test of time!  A great one for hand eye co-ordination and bound to have you all giggling (and probably arguing!)

These pegboards are great for developing fine motor control.  I really love that they can be open ended to allow for the child to be creative but that they also have some templates to give some ideas and to allow pattern following practice,

Large vertical movements are important for children's developing writing skills and a good solid easel is always a great addition to play items giving opportunities for mark making.

Ok.... these are quite the investment, but I promise your 3 year old will love them, as will your 6 year old, 9 year old, 45 year old.... These are truly fantastic. The magnets are strong enough to build very large structures and the bright colours make them so tempting.

A low tech tablet which still excites!  This simple LCD tablet is perfect for encouraging mark making.  Sometimes children can be nervous in their mark making for fear of making a mistake but this has a simple 1 button delete function which means that they can have a go whilst knowing it can quickly be removed.  A hit in our household and this is a great present for others.

I love this set of letters and numbers - there is something really satisfying about them each having their own home and it means you can easily identify the one you want that they don't end up in a big jumbled heap!

I have always loved cooking with the children in the schools I have worked in, as well as with my daughter at home.  These are my go-to knives to use with children from about the age of 3 as they are sharp enough to cut through a range of ingredients but feel blunt to touch!

An oldie but a goodie as they say!  Great for developing focus and hand eye co-ordination and this set has opportunities for more challenge with letters and numbers.
