Gift Guide - 2 Year Old

Gift Guide - 2 Year Old

Hey!

With Christmas fast approaching I thought it would be a great time to do some gift guides!

This one is for a 2 year old and includes many of the items which we love and play with regularly.

I hope you find it useful!

I have huge enthusiasm for these crayons (scarily so!) which are, quite simply, the best crayons I have come across!  These glide on so easily and don't need the pressure which little hands sometimes struggle with.  They are bright an cheerful, can be used on a variety of surfaces, including windows and tuff trays and are washable. What's not to love?

Ok.... these are quite the investment, but I promise your 2 year old will love them, as will your 6 year old, 9 year old, 45 year old....  These are truly fantastic.  The magnets are strong enough to build very large structures and the bright colours make them so tempting.  They say from 3 years up but my 2 year old has spent plenty of time enjoying them - I will leave you to make the best choice for your child!

We have a few different brands of toy animals but the Schleich ones are really a cut above the rest!  These animals stand up well, they do not have the annoying hole in the bottom which many other brands have (which fills with water if you use them in the bath!) and there is fantastic attention to detail.  Not cheap, but they will be played with for many years!

Sometimes the classics are the best!  I recommend getting a box set like this and then adding to it with additional themed sets which match you child's interests.

I just love having a child old enough to play proper games with me and lotto is a real winner in our house!  Orchard Toys are so brilliant at making sturdy and age appropriate toys and this one is just that.  A great one for Boxing Day fun!

A good, washable paint is a staple in your art supplies and this one is a really good option.  This set has a good variety of colours.  The containers aren't huge but that means it is less likely to dry out before you use it all!

A doctor set is a great addition to your role play items and this one has a little of everything!  Accompanied by some bandages and plasters and a collection of teddies or dolls this is bound to be a hit!
